The Oil & Gas activities in the United States are managed by RHS Oil & Gas Management, LLC headed by Rick Shirley
Rick Shirley is a veteran of the oil and gas industry with extensive experience in prospect generation and review, lease assemblage, prospect packaging and promotion, contract negotiation and review, and unitization. He has testified in numerous hearings before the Louisiana Office of Conservation where he was recognized as an expert witness.
Mr. Shirley began his career in 1977 with Exxon Corporation, where he generated oil and gas prospects in the onshore region of the Louisiana Gulf Coast. In 1981, he formed Performance Exploration Company to expand his area of activity and continued generating prospects as an independent geologist. In that role, he developed industry partners by aligning his interest with theirs through cost-sharing (“working interest”) participation and developed trade terms that are now long-established as accepted standards within the industry. Mr. Shirley continues to use those standards with an expanded investor base.
In 1990, Mr. Shirley formed Flare Resources, Inc., with a Houston-based partner. During its successful 23-year existence, Flare Resources participated in joint ventures with Mobil Oil, Phillips Petroleum, Burlington Resources, Apache Corporation, Castex Energy, LLOG Exploration and CL&F Resources. While focused on the Gulf Coast, Flare Resources also participated in the South Arkansas Fayetteville Shale play, the Lower Smackover Brown Dense play of North Louisiana and Southern Arkansas, and the North Louisiana Haynesville Shale play. In each, Flare sold its acreage for a substantial profit.
